ATTENTION ATTENTION! PCS IS LOOKING FOR PERFORMERS AND BACKSTAGE HELP! IF you would like to participate in this year’s Filipino Culture Show, please contact a member of BAPS and or KA!!
The show is meant to bring to the light the Filipino culture and the struggles it has come in front of and is facing. It is a great show of talent of many of the performers and a great way for people who haven’t seen the culture or who want to learn more! Come out and enjoy a night of singing, dancing, acting, and more!
The members of BAPS volunteered at this event helping with serving water to all the participants! We would like to thank everyone who came out to support this wonderful event.
A fellow member of BAPS is modeling in the charity event, TUNES AND THREADS. All proceeds will be extended to the typhoon victims in aiding and subsidizing the relief efforts! 20$ at the door for a great show!
Hope to see you there!
As the week of Friendship Games approached, a member of KA and BAPS was involved in a car accident. Over fifty individuals from different organizations who cared for him deeply camped out in the lobby of Sharp Memorial Hospital for over three days. Unfortunately he passed away on October 29, 2009. May you rest in peace Jeremy. Your light has touched more people than you might have known.
Please join the members of BAPS at Friendship Games! But what is Friendship Games you ask?
“Cal State Fullerton’s Pilipino American Student Association will be hosting its 24th annual Friendship Games on Saturday, October 24th, 2009.
Friendship Games has been created for the community and the general public to provide a cultural rally to celebrate Pilipino art, dance, and culture. Friendship Games allows colleges and universities nationwide to compete in fun, friendly, and competitive picnic games in hopes of taking home 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies. One of over 50 schools in attendance may also win a trophy measuring 8 feet tall. This award recognizes the school that best exemplifies good sportsmanship as well as Spirit, Pride, Unity, and Friendship, a term we coined as “SPUF.”
Friendship Games has come to represent more than just Pilipino American college students. It has given a significant identity to individuals of any ethnicity. This is a time when old friends reunite and where new friendships form, ultimately coming together to celebrate the Pilipino heritage…” [http://myspace.com/friendshipgames]
